LAMER, Gene D., 66, Pine Flats

Gene D. Lamer, 66, of Pine Flats, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona.

He is survived by seven children: Carla Hindle, Virginia; Lesa Marcolini and husband Frank, Virginia; Bobby Berringer, Virginia; Denise Draganza and husband Ernie, Indiana; Mary Frampton and husband Rich, Colorado; Jeannine Yanez and husband Pat, Virginia; and Brian Lamer and wife Angie, state of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Alex, Alanna, Dominic, Carri, Kyle, Samantha, Kasey, Lucy, Michael, Gabriel and Joseph; three siblings: Barbara Hagerich and husband Rod, Vinco; Bob and wife Rose, Northern Cambria; and Clayton and wife Gloria, Nolo; and niece Tracey Brocious and nephews Todd Haggerich, Mark and Matthew Lamer; and Frank Pennington.

Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., Hillsdale, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held Saturday with Pastor Wes Lewis officiating. Military honors will be observed. A private interment will follow at the McDowell Cemetery in Green Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Gene to the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, 2907 Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
