Area churches plan vacation Bible school

The following churches have scheduled vacation Bible schools in coming weeks:

• Alverda Faith Tabernacle, Alverda. Children of all ages are invited to attend the camping-themed Bible school, 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be puppets, crafts, refreshments and prizes. A picnic will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. July 27. Everyone is welcome to attend.

• Black Lick United Methodist Church. “Camp Son” from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 5 to 9 at the Black Lick Fire Hall, Main Street, Black Lick. Lorraine and Larry Henry will present the program. All children in the community are invited to attend.

• Calvary Bible Church, 19032 Route 286, Hillsdale. “God’s Incredible World,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 12 to 16 at the church parsonage. Ages 4 to 13. Special prizes will be given to those who register ahead of time and are in attendance Aug. 12. To register or for more information, call (814) 743-5448.

• Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 100 Ben Franklin Road South, Indiana. “Kingdom Chronicles, Standing Strong in the Battle for Truth,” 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Ages 4 to 12. (724) 463-8890.

• Clymer Presbyterian Church, Sixth and Hancock streets, Clymer. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 29 through Aug. 2.

• Cookport Baptist Church. “Christmas in July,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The true meaning of Christmas from the Bible. Games, snacks, crafts, singing and more. Ages 3 and up. Everyone welcome. For more information, call Jess at (724) 422-0901.

• Dixonville Wesleyan Church. “Under the Big Top With Jesus,” Monday through Thursday. Community Carnival, Friday, to mark the end of Bible school. Adults and children. • Homer City United Presbyterian Church, 40 E. Elm St. “SonQuest Rain Forest,” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Preschool through grade 6. Sponsored by Hope Lutheran Church and Homer City United Presbyterian Church. Kickoff dinner 5 p.m. Sunday. Registration is appreciated. (724) 479-2695.

• Indiana Alliance Church. “Mega Sports Camp,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 5 to 9 at the White Township Recreation Center. Age 4 to grade 6. Free. Basketball, soccer and cheerleading. All skill levels welcome. Learn skills for sports and for life. To register, call Lisa at (724) 541-5441.

• Indiana Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1201 Church St. “Heaven is a Wonderful Place,” 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be something for all ages.

• Penn Run Church of the Brethren and Child Evangelism Fellowship. “Jesus My Savior and Friend,” 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road. Parents welcome to attend. Bible stories, songs, memory, crafts and snacks. Call (724) 463-0420, leave name and age.

• Plumville Presbyterian Church. “The Fruits of the Spirit,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Closing program Friday. Bible stories, crafts, games and music.
