Bridge replacement planned
The bridge over Two Lick Creek on Old Route 119 in Center Township will soon be replaced.
The existing structurally deficient bridge, built in 1916, will be replaced with a new structure. The bridge carries approximately 2,100 vehicles per day. In addition to replacement of the bridge, Route 3035, near Simpson Road, will be lowered to increase the height clearance under a railroad bridge.
Beginning March 25, Old Route 119 will close to traffic between Route 3026 and Wayne Avenue to facilitate lowering the road during Phase 1 of the project.
Once that work is finished, Phase 2 will begin with Route 3035 closing from Lisle Street to Two Lick Road to facilitate replacement of the bridge.
A posted detour will be in place for Phases 1 and 2 using Wayne Avenue, Route 119 and Old Route 56.
This $2,247,174 project will be handled by Gulisek Construction LLC, of Mount Pleasant. The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
