Bridge work to begin

Beginning Monday at 7 a.m., a preservation projects on the bridge on Route 56 over Blacklick Creek near United High School and bridges on Route 22 over Route 56 will impact traffic.

PennDOT advised drivers of the following traffic-pattern changes:

  • One-lane alternating traffic controlled by a temporary signal on Route 56 between Brush Valley and East Wheatfield Township
  • Single-lane closures on Route 22 East and West between Route 2024 (Philadelphia Street) and Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township
  • Route 22 east to Route 56 ramp closure with detour
  • Detour for ramp uses Route 22 East to Route 403 to Route 22 West to Route 56

This $1.06 million project is a carryover from 2012 and is being constructed by Russell Standard Corp., of Pittsburgh.
