Burrell library meeting discusses donations, 5K

on April 13, 2014 1:45 AM

The Burrell Township Library met March 20 with the meeting called to order by Rich Bozich.

The Kyler’s Grant was used to buy books and DVDs for the children’s library, and the purchases have been posted on the library’s website, www.burrelltownshiplibrary.org.

Computer classes have been started again. Most people want one-on-one instructions so Kate Abner, library director, has agreed to do that on Thursdays by appointment since she has her Career T.R.A.C.K.

Abner has received donations from Indiana First Bank of Blairsville and from Phoenix Rehabilitation & Health Services Inc. of Indiana toward the 5K race and walk event. Thank-you letters have been sent.

Patrons have been donating toilet paper, tissues, garbage bags, dish detergent and coffee creamer to the library, so Abner has not had to spend money on those items for a couple of months now.

She said she is going to change the one box on the circulation desk to a “donate money to support the free candy for patrons” and see how that goes. The library board will start working on the next newsletter.

The library board is still planning the 5K race, “Run 4 R Library,” to be held June 21.

Race forms can be downloaded at www.burrelltownshiplibrary.org

The next board meeting will be Thursday.
