BURRELL TOWNSHIP LIBRARY
At the monthly meeting of the Burrell Township Board of Trustees, Kate Abner, library director, informed the board of upcoming events planned for the library this summer. The events include the annual summer program, movie nights and a senior outreach program.
All children in Burrell Township are invited to join the fun as we “Dig into Reading.” The event began Tuesday. Many activities are planned such as crafts, shared reading and research into things found in the ground, such as fossils, burrowing animals and insects. Visit the library website to read more about the fun planned.
The big screen is coming to the library in the form of a 55-inch TV. A movie license to show DVDs to public audiences has been purchased. The Community Room will soon be the place to relax and watch free movies. The air-conditioned building will provide a change for an evening out for the family. The type of film planned will be announced via the Web page and posters. Stop by the library to learn the title to be shown.
The board discussed having a Summer Water Party on a warm Saturday in late July or August. Watch for more information at www.burrelltownshiplibrary.org.
A fall basket raffle was discussed with plans for seasonal baskets with a drawing in October. Donations for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets will be appreciated.
