U.S. Sen. Bob Casey has announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under the Department of Homeland Security, recently awarded $2,850 in grants to the Armagh & East Wheatfield Township Volunteer Fire Department for its operations and safety.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” Casey in a news release. “This money will help provide Indiana County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”

Funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG), which aims to strengthen the health and safety of the nation’s first responders and those they serve.
