• The Jimmy Stewart Museum will show “The Cheyenne Social Club” at 1 p.m. at the museum on the third floor of 835 Philadelphia St. This movie is a 1970 production starring James Stewart, Henry Fonda and Shirley Jones. For more information, visit www.jimmy.org.

• The Thunder Mountain Lenape Nation Native American Festival will continue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 236 Skyline Drive, Saltsburg. Native American dancing, drumming, food, crafts, a tomahawk tournament, pony rides, animals and programs for children and adults are scheduled. • A chicken and holupki dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, Tanoma Road, Rayne Township. The public is welcome; a fast takeout line will be open. Dinners for adults are $10, dinners for kids 5 to 12 are $3, and children 4 and under eat for free.

• Lagoons by Pontoon will begin at 2 p.m. at Yellow Creek State Park’s boat rental area, 170 Route 259, Penn Run. Join the park naturalist to see firsthand how productive and full of life wetlands are.

• The Indiana County Farmers Market will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the corner of South Eighth and Church streets. Fresh local fruits, vegetables, baked goods, potted plants, live music, local chefs and community booths will be featured.

• Chamber Business After Hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the 700 Shop/Intimately Yours on the corner of Seventh and Philadelphia streets. After Hours gives Chamber of Commerce members a chance to network their business with other businesses in a relaxed, social atmosphere. • A community breakfast will be served from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Saltsburg Social Center, 212 Point St., Saltsburg. On the menu are pancakes, eggs, bacon and toast, all for $2.50. For more information, call (724) 639-9055.

• A farmers market will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Strongstown Homecoming and Historical Society, 14729 Route 422, Strongstown. “Shenandoah” will be shown at 1 p.m. at the Jimmy Stewart Museum on the third floor of 835 Philadelphia St. This 1965 production stars Jimmy Stewart, Katherine Ross and Doug McClure.

Aug. 25 to 31

The 151st Indiana County Fair will be held at J.S. Mack Community Park, White Township. The weeklong event offers local farmers, 4-H members and others the opportunity to show their livestock, crafts, baked goods and more in numerous competitions.

Other events include tractor pulls, band night, demolition derbies, entertainment, carnival rides and food. Craig Campbell will perform on Monday.

Aug. 28

Students will learn the importance of the sun in creating solar energy and how photovoltaic cells can convert solar energy into electricity. Afterward, students will build solar cars and race them. • A Sunset Tea Cruise will begin at 7 p.m. at the boat rental area of Yellow Creek State Park. 170 Route 259, Penn Run. Enjoy a relaxing cruise on Yellow Creek. Seating is limited to the first 10 participants and is $10 per person. Registration is required by calling (724) 357-7913.

AUG. 30

A summer-themed Labor Day Party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Indiana Social Center, 1001 Oak St. There will be a fried chicken dinner and karaoke. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance by calling (724) 465-2697.
