IUP to hold basic vehicle rescue course
Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Division of Emergency Services Training will offer its 2011 spring basic vehicle rescue course, starting April 4.
This is a 52-hour course intended to prepare fire, rescue and emergency medical personnel in the skills and knowledge necessary to perform a safe and efficient vehicle rescue operation.
The course is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and is approved by the Veterans Administration for benefits.
The class will be offered through May 1. Cost is $150. Students will be expected to provide a full set of personal protective clothing and equipment for the field sessions.
Registration is due by March 31 and must include a $50 nonrefundable deposit.
Late registrations will be accepted if space is available.
