by By Pennsylvania Department of Transportation on August 22, 2013 6:22 PM

Route 56 in Brush Valley Township is expected to open to normal traffic Friday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m.

The road was closed on Aug. 16, one mile East of Brush Valley, between the intersections of Spruce Hollow Road (T-619) and Sunflower Lane (T-732) for the replacement of the structurally deficient bridge that carries Route 56 over Brush Creek.

Work will continue on the project under normal traffic.

PennDOT reminds motorists to drive responsibly in the work zone.  Be aware of the new roadway alignment and drive accordingly.

This $2,880,000 bridge replacement project is being constructed by C.J. Merlo of Mineral Point. The project is expected to be completed in October.
