Yellow Creek offers programs
Yellow Creek State Park will host campfire fun with music and marshmallows Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the beach (main day-use area).
Join Bob Bonnet as he plays guitar and leads a singalong. Enjoy roasting marshmallows over an open fire.
On June 2, Heavenly Hummingbirds will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Environmental Learning Classroom.
Hummingbirds are the tiniest and most fascinating birds that will visit your backyard.
Join the park naturalist to learn how to attract hummingbirds into your own backyard with nectar and insect plants that they dearly crave. Afterward, head to the woodshop to build a hummingbird trellis of your own. If you would like to build a trellis, registration is required.
Construction costs are $15 for each fan-shaped trellis. Bring a battery-powered drill if you have one. To register, call the park office at (724) 357-7913.
