'Ninja Warrior' competitor wants to inspire others
SAN ANTONIO — Being the first woman to complete one of the most grueling obstacle courses in the “American Ninja Warrior” show is not enough for Kacy Catanzaro. She wants to inspire people to get off the couch and start getting fit.
The 5-foot, 100-pound woman breezed through the course earlier this week in Dallas, qualifying for the final round in Las Vegas. That’s set to air in August.
A YouTube video capturing the feat has drawn more than 6 million views.
The 24-year-old says she wants to use her newfound fame to become a motivational speaker at schools to get young people interested in sports and fitness.

NEW YORK — Alexandra Shipp has very little time to get ready for her new role as the late R&B singer Aaliyah.
Lifetime spokeswoman Kannie Yu LaPack confirmed Friday that Shipp will play the singer, who died in a plane crash in 2001.
Shipp replaces Zendaya in the Lifetime biopic “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.” Zendaya pulled out of production last month.
The project was briefly halted, but filming will start later this month, leaving the 23-year-old Shipp little time to prep.
She has played roles on the Nick show “House of Anubis” and the movie “Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeak-quel.”
