BOY OF THE MONTH: Sean Rhodes
Sean Rhodes has been named the 666th Indiana Optimist Club Boy of the Month, for June.
An Indiana Area Senior High School graduate, Sean is the son of David and Laura Helmrich-Rhodes, of Indiana.
He is a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he attended elementary school and was an altar server, and regularly attends St. Thomas More University Parish.
Sean was a member of the IHS Student Government Association and Future Business Leaders of America, was a four-year letterman in lacrosse and team captain, and was selected as a 2013 WPIAL all-star goalie and a 2011 Pittsburgh Lacrosse Foundation All Star. He also lettered in swimming. Sean is a Pennsylvania-certified EMT, a lifeguard and a PADI-certified diver.
In his spare time, Sean will be starting the Citizens’ Ambulance Service new employee training class today. He also enjoys traveling, especially to Ireland to visit relatives, and watching movies with his friends. His favorite TV show is “Lost” and he enjoys reading biographies. His favorite subject in school is researching different countries for Mr. Berdig’s social studies class.
Sean has been recruited to play lacrosse goalie at Onondaga Community College, which is a top-ranked junior college program. He will major in math and science and hopes to continue his education at Syracuse University in math and finance.
