Health care consortium awards scholarships
Indiana County Health Care Careers Consortium has awarded two $500 scholarships to Indiana County students.
Autumn Shellhammer, of Commodore, a student at Purchase Line High School, was awarded a scholarship. she is planning to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania for pre-physical therapy and natural sciences.
The second scholarship was awarded to Timothy A. George Jr., of Indiana.
A sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. George works at the Ambulance Service Management Corp.
The Health Care Career Consortium said it was impressed with both students’ dedication to the health care field as well as their work in the community.
In addition, the consortium awarded two scholarships to attend Certified Nursing Assistant training at Westmoreland County Community College.
Scholarship recipients were Beverly Ann Debnar, of New Florence, and Donna Nagg, of Clarks-burg.
Consortium officials said both individuals had impressive credentials and a strong commitment to the health care field.
