WEDDING: Joy Buendia and Gabriel Altman

Joy Enriquez Buendia and Gabriel Joseph Altman were united in marriage on March 17, 2014, at Casa Feliz in Winter Park, Fla., by Pastor Joseph Altman.

Joy is the daughter of Randolph Buendia, of Mulberry, Fla., and the late Connie Enriquez Buendia. Gabriel is the son of Joseph and Lisa Altman, of Somerset, Ky., and the grandson of Kenneth and Helen Schall, of R.D.1 Rural Valley, and Helen Altman, of R.D. 1 Shelocta, and the late Larmar Altman.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Filipino traditions were observed by sponsors Bong and Gina Buendia, uncle and aunt of the bride; Dr. Ruben and Mila Adriano and Joe and Maria Valderrama.

The ceremony was dedicated to the loving memory of Joy's mother. There were special tributes to Joy's mother, such as her picture on the bride’s bouquet of blush David Austin roses and a white, long-stemmed rose placed on the chair that would have been for her mother.

The bride's wedding dress was by designer Moniqu Lhuillier. It was a silk white embellished lace and organza strapless sweetheart embroidered bodice with textured A-line skirt.

The matron of honor was Kimmi Stultz, of Parkland, Fla. Bridesmaids were Michele Valderama, of Orlando, Fla.; Nowelle Altman, sister of groom, of Port Orange, Fla.; Raegan Rivers, of Miami, Fla.; and Amanda Nikolich, of Jefferson Hills. The flowers girls were Callie and Natalie Farmer, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

The best man was John Shireman, of Port Orange. The groomsmen were Chad Stultz, of Parkland, Fla.; Tim Shuman, of Orlando; Oat Ajimasookt, of New York City; and Nicholas Sigman, of Port Orange. The ring bearer was Gabe Shireman, who carried a Bible that belonged to the bride's mother. Cocoa Altman served as honorary ring bearer.

Joy is a graduate of George Jenkins High School of Lakeland, Fla., Rollins College of Winter Park, Fla., and Palmer College of Chiropractics of Port Orange.

Gabriel is a graduate of Somerset High School of Somerset, Ky., the University of the Cumberlands of Williamsburg, Ky., and Palmer College of Chiropractics of Port Orange.

The couple honeymooned in Napa Valley, Calif. The Altmans will live in Los Angeles for a short time before making their home in Florida, where they will practice as doctors of chiropractics.
