WEDDING: Kristi Knapik and John Lasch

Kristi Marie Knapik, of Cherry Tree, and John Robert Lasch, of Pittsburgh, were united in marriage on Saturday, June 21, 2014. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. E. George Saletrik at the Church of the Resurrection located in Clymer.

Kristi is the daughter of Fred and Debbie Knapik, of Cherry Tree. John is the son of John and Elaine Lasch, of Pittsburgh. The grandparents of the bride are Charlotte Knapik, of Commodore, the late Stanley Knapik, and the late Charles and Mary Julock. The grandparents of the groom are Margaret Smeaton, of Verona, the late John Smeaton, and the late Robert and Eunice Lasch.

Kristi was escorted by her father, Fred Knapik. The bride’s gown featured a white strapless sweetheart taffeta pick-up with beaded metallic lace ending in a chapel train.

The maid of honor was Erika Lasch, sister of the groom, of Pittsburgh. Bridesmaids were Bethany Knapik, of Grove City, and Theresa Knapik, of Hermitage, both sisters-in-law of the bride. The flower girl was Isla Knupp, niece of the bride, of Ligonier.

The best man was John Lasch, father of the groom, of Pittsburgh. The groomsmen were Brad Knapik, of Grove City, and Justin Knapik, of Hermitage, both brothers of the bride. The ring bearer was Rilee Knapik, nephew of the bride, of Grove City.

Kristi is a 2004 graduate of Purchase Line High School and a 2008 graduate of Penn State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed at Belmont Ridge Middle School as a special-education teacher assistant, in Leesburg, Va.

Jake is a 2007 graduate of Woodland Hills High School and a 2012 graduate of Community College of Allegheny County, where he earned his associate’s degree in liberal arts and sciences. He is employed at Manassas Transfer, in Manassas, Va., as a commercial driver and mover.

A reception was held at The Event Hall, in Shelocta, following the ceremony.

The couple has planned a beach trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for their honeymoon in August. They reside in Manassas, Va.
