April is a good month to stockpile eco merchandise
Question: I’ve really enjoyed finding out about seasonal sales cycles.
I’ve started a sensible stockpile by following the cycles in your recent articles. Now that it’s April what items should I be buying?
Answer: Lucky for you, the arrival of April brings many hot shopping opportunities with it.
There are unique deals to be found during the month that you won’t find the rest of the year.
By knowing what items will be at their lowest this month, you can best plan ahead and budget for some great sales.
First, let’s take a look at one of the events celebrated in April.
Earth Day is one, and with it comes markdowns on items such as organic and natural foods, energy-saver items such as light bulbs, natural personal care products, reusable bags and water bottles, Energy Star appliances, and, of course, reusable totes will be in abundance.
If you are in the market for more “green” and planet-friendly items in your life, now is the time to buy.
The warmer weather will also bring an abundance of tasty seasonal produce including artichokes, asparagus, beets, broccoli, cabbages, carrots, grapefruit, avocado, mushrooms, onions, peas and rhubarb.
Remember, even though these items are perishable, you can still stock up on them and either freeze what you won’t use right away or can it.
You can use many of these items to make relishes that will freeze well.
Another perk of the warmer weather is all of the home-and-garden supplies that will be on sale. If you love to work out in the yard, you should know that gardening equipment as well as seeds, bird feeders, spring cleaning supplies, and even allergy medicine to keep those seasonal afflictions at bay will all be marked down this month. Stock up so you have plenty of everything to get you through the summer months.
Other hot clearance items you will want to keep your eyes peeled for this April are all of the after-Easter products.
After-Easter sales help you stock up on decorations, baskets, grass, egg dyeing kits and stickers for next year.
Last but not least, there are some items on sale this month you may not have realized since they don’t fit into the standard definition of spring items.
Computers, digital cameras, lawn mowers, and even jewelry (don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming) will all be marked down.
