If your children are looking for something exciting to do this summer and like to explore new things, the Indiana County 4-H Program has a special summer opportunity for them. The 4-H program is sponsoring three-day camps this summer in several locations in the county.

This year’s camp theme is “Backyard Bash!” The camp program will focus on farm animals, animal science and Indiana County agriculture.

The program will include many fun, hands-on activities.

Campers will do things such as visit with real farm animals, understand animal products and by-products, do experiments, make crafts, eat snacks, meet new friends and go on a tour. Campers are ages 7 to 12.

The camps will be held at three locations in Indiana County:

• Plumville: July 9-11, Plumville Presbyterian Church.

• Blairsville: July 16-18, United Presbyterian Church.

• Penn Run/Clymer area: July 23-25, New Horizons Retreat Center.

The cost is $35 per camper, and youth 13 and older are encouraged to apply for teen helper positions. Campers will also receive a free T-shirt.

Camp donors are Indiana-Midday Rotary, AgChoice Farm Credit, Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, PA Dairy Promotion Program, Northern Dairy 4-H Club and Commissioner David Frick.
