During the Indiana Chapter of the American Association of University Women’s annual luncheon, Pauline Simms was recognized as the 2013 AAUW Notable Woman for her outstanding commitment to the values of the organization.

The AAUW values include the commitment to lifelong learning and the support of women’s political and equity issues. Some 25 years ago, the Indiana Chapter of the AAUW began celebrating outstanding women from around the county, and it is the only chapter in the country that follows the Notable Women tradition.

Many former Notable Women were in attendance at the luncheon.

Pictured are AAUW officers, from left, Patricia Holmes, secretary; Danielle Morganti, Notable Women chairwoman; Simms, receiving her certificate of recognition from Judith Yothers, president; and Juanita Burdette, treasurer.
