CANDIDATE: Donna Cousins (Republican)
Donna Cousins understands the importance of accurate records.
As a farm loan officer with the Farm Service Agency at the Department of Agriculture for 29 years, she stressed record keeping to the farmers she worked with.
“I believe that (keeping) accurate records is the most important part of any operation,” she said.
“The experience I have gained (as a loan officer) will enable me to provide White Township residents with a competent tax collection service.”
Cousins said she started with the Farm Service Agency as a county loan clerk, then became a farm loan officer helping farmers in Indiana and the five surrounding counties obtain supervised credit to fund their operations. Now retired, she said she would maintain a full-time office that is an “easy access, handicapped accessible” office.
“I’m not a politician. (I’m) just a hardworking woman that will serve you,” she said.
“I know that no one enjoys paying taxes, but my dedication to providing the best job possible and unquestionable service will hopefully help to make it an almost painless thing.”
Cousins previously worked at the Central Tax Bureau of Pennsylvania for two years and was a former co-owner of the Train Station Restaurant Inc. She also served as president of the COC/COA Association and sat on various committees.
She and her husband, Chris, live on Ben Franklin Road with their son, Tyler, and dog, Teddy, and own Cousins Self Storage in Indiana and Ford City.
