CHILI COOK-OFF

on February 24, 2013 2:35 AM

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Kappa Sigma fraternity (Kappa Theta chapter) held its third annual chili cook-off Saturday in the Hadley Union Building’s Ohio Room to benefit a program that serves American military families.

The judges were, from left, Indiana Borough Mayor George Hood; Sam Clutter, IUP director of safety; Leonard Bench, the fraternity’s alumnus adviser; and not pictured, Gary Williams, marketing professor at IUP; and Brian Butz, cadet first sergeant, Army ROTC.

Last year, the event raised more than $700, and this year the goal was to raise $1,000 for the Fisher House program, which offers housing to families with military members hospitalized at major military or veterans’ affairs facilities.
