Special service planned
The second of two services, to promote healing through the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, for those affected by the recent action at Graystone Presbyterian Church, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Indiana. Pastor David Caves will lead the worship, Spirit Blend will sing and Communion will be led by Pastor David Hanna and Pastor Richard Cassel, HR. The worship service is open to the community.
SPRING CHURCH — Spring Church Lutheran Church will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. today at the church, Route 56, four miles east of Apollo.
The menu will include chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. There is a donation of $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for ages younger than 5. Takeouts are available for an additional 50 cents.

Chicken and halushki
CLYMER — St. Anne’s Byzantine Catholic Church will be selling grilled chicken, homemade halushki and more from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the church’s tent, Sherman Street, Clymer. A half of a chicken is $6. All are welcome.
MARION CENTER — The annual Marion Center Presbyterian Church turkey dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Proceeds benefit the Church Mission and Maintenance funds.
BRUSH VALLEY — A ham dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Brush Valley Chapel, Route 259 between Brush Valley and Yellow Creek State Park. Everyone is welcome.
Dinner will consist of ham, parsley potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or apple sauce, bread, beverage and dessert. Takeouts are available.
The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for ages 4 to 12 and free for ages younger than four. Proceeds benefit the Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery Association and the Brush Valley Chapel Building Fund.
Country gospel service
SHELOCTA — A country gospel worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church. All are invited. A brunch will be served following the service.
Fall revival series
WATERFORD — The fall revival series “Walking With God” will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Sunday and at 6:45 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at First Church of the Brethren, Route 271, Waterford, four miles north of Ligonier.

KENWOOD — The Kenwood Church of the Nazarene will welcome Dr. Stephen Dillman for revival services from Oct. 6 to Oct. 9. Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and weekday services are at 7 p.m.
Dr. Dillman is an ordained member of the clergy of the Church of the Nazarene, pastoring churches in Pennsylvania and New York and serving as district superintendent for Pittsburgh Church of the Nazarene. For more information, call (724) 254-4884.
Nick “the Greek” Pirovolos will the special guest speaker at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Worship Center, 500 Lenz Road, White Township.
Pirovolos is the founder and director of Inside Out Prison Ministry based in Cleveland. He was a hit man, thief and drug addict. While in the intensive care unit of the Ohio State Penitentiary, he was scheduled for an operation that had little chance for success.

Night of worship
The Harvest Community Church, Indiana campus, will hold a Night of Worship at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Toretti Auditorium at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on the IUP campus.

Rhonda Rhea will present “Espresso Your Faith” during the 2013 Punxsutawney Christian Women’s Conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Punxsutawney First Church of God. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
Rhonda is a speaker, humor columnist, radio personality and author of 10 books, including “How Many Light Bulbs Does It Take to Change a Person?” and her newest release, “Espresso Your Faith — 30 Shots of God’s Word to Keep You Focused on Christ.”
Her first works of fiction, “Get a Grip” and “Cling to Reality” are due to be released in 2014 and 2015, both co-authored with her daughter, Kaley Faith Rhea.
