Community church events announced
Pastor Ronald Sexton is retiring after more than 46 years in the ministry. Pastor Sexton was instrumental in establishing the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, 370 Twolick Drive, White Township.
He and his wife, Shirley, have three grown children and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The church plans to have a dinner in honor of his retirement.
DERRY — The monthly Ladies’ Lunch will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Derry First United Methodist Church, 311 N. Ligonier St., Derry.

Gospel music festival
ARMAGH — The Armagh United Methodist Church, Armagh, will be holding a gospel music festival from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 1 to 10 p.m. May 17.
Scheduled to perform on Friday are Randy Simpson, Dwayne Kaufman, 2 For 1, Amy Ward and Rachel, Brenda Misher and Diane Myers. The kitchen will be open from 5 to 8 p.m.
Scheduled to perform on May 17 are The Choraliers and Pearl, Heaven 4 Shore, Clowns for Christ, Randy Simpson, Dwayne Kaufman, The Michael Family, The Masters, United and New Journey. The kitchen will be open from noon to 8 p.m. selling hot dogs, hamburgers, haluski, stromboli, pizza, desserts, pop, water and more.

BLAIRSVILLE — The 19th pastoral anniversary for Pastor Ronnie C. Morris Sr., and Lavonne V. Morris of Blairsville Second Baptist Church will be held May 17 at the church. Dinner will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and the service begins at 4 p.m.
The preacher of the hour will be Calvin McCoy, pastor of Christ Temple Ministries of Blairsville.

Joint worship service
CHERRY TREE — A joint worship service for the Heilwood and Cherry Tree Presbyterian churches at 11:15 a.m. May 18 at Cherry Tree Presbyterian Church.
LEWISVILLE — An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. May 18 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Lewisville. Takeouts are available. The cost is $7 per person. Proceeds benefit the Youth Fund.
Chicken and holupki dinner
Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, on the corner of Tanoma Road and Route 286 East, Rayne Township, will hold a chicken and holupki dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 18.
Cost is $10 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and younger eat for free.
Everyone is welcome. There will also be a fast takeout line.
‘Going Deep’ conference
CHERRY TREE — Kolt Barber will be the special guest speaker at the “Going Deep” conference at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 18 and 7 p.m. May 19 to 21 at Kinport Assembly of God, Route 240, Cherry Tree.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Church of the Resurrection, 349 Morris St., Clymer, and First Commonwealth Bank are co-hosting a fashion show at the Punxsutawney Country Club on May 18. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show will start at 2 p.m.
This new fundraiser for the parish includes a catered sit-down luncheon and a fashion show sponsored by Peebles, with models being mothers and daughters from each of the five parish sites.
There will also be a variety of baskets to be raffled out, each worth between $50 and $200, with one overnight package. Registration forms are available by calling Joann Stibrik at (724) 254-3659 or Leigh Shubra at (724) 254-3041, and should be submitted to Shubra at the Clymer church office no later than noon on Monday.
Evangelist David Barker, also known as “Preacherman,” will return to Calvary Bible Church for revival services May 18 to 21 at the church, 2712 Pine Vale Road in Grant Township, between Deckers Point and Rochester Mills.
He will bring messages from the Book of Revelation and about the subject of prayer. Services will be held at 10 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 18 and 7 p.m. May 19 to 21. A fellowship time will follow the evening service with light refreshments served.
