Community church events announced
The film “Uncommon” will be shown at 6 p.m. today at Hilltop Baptist Church, 4859 Route 286 West, Center Township.
There is no charge. The film encourages everyone to stand for Christ in schools and in public. It’s about educating parents, grandparents, teachers and officials on student-led religious activities. The movie stars Christian singer Jason Crabb, Ben Davies from “Courageous” and Erik Estrada.

Faithful Friends Quartet
The Faithful Friends Quartet will be in concert during the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday at the Indiana Church of the Nazarene. Members of the quartet are Kevin and Tim McCullough, Malcom Polley and Ken Weimert.
The Indiana Church of the Nazarene Praise Band will also participate. A free-will offering will be received. Pastor Glenn Propst invites the public to attend.
PENN RUN — The Indiana/Cambria County Hymn and Gospel Sing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Maple Grove Church of God, Laurel Run Road, Penn Run. Come to sing, come to listen. Everyone is welcome.
Jacobs Brothers to perform
PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Jacobs Brothers, of Dillsburg, will perform in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Punxsutawney.
Veterans of gospel music for more than 50 years, the group has traveled millions of miles and produced more than 50 albums. There is no charge for admission, but a love offering will be received.

Lenten soup luncheons
Soup luncheons open to the entire community will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays during Lent at Zion Lutheran Church, Sixth and Church streets, Indiana.
Every Tuesday, three different soups, including a vegetarian selection, will be offered with bread and dessert. Takeout is available. Diners will be asked to make free-will offerings to benefit the church’s community food pantry. Tuesday’s menu includes beet and apple, black bean and bacon, and Nana’s chicken.
Lenten luncheon series
CLYMER — The Clymer Ministerial Lenten Luncheon Series will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays during Lent. The schedule is:

Indiana Church of the Brethren, 905 McKnight Road, White Township, will sell homemade Easter eggs at Indiana Mall on April 5. The half-pound eggs are available in peanut butter or coconut flavor and can be purchased near the K-mart for $5 or by calling (724) 254-3003.
PENN RUN — A pasta buffet will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 5 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run.
The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for ages 3 to 11. The menu includes spaghetti, penne, meatballs in sauce, sausage sauce, Alfredo sauce, lasagna, California blend vegetables, salad, bread and desserts.

Spring yard sale
STARFORD — The Pine Flats Church of God will hold a spring yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12 at the Morning Star Fellowship Hall, Route 286, Starford.
A wide variety of new and used items will be available including all sizes of clothing, from infants to adult plus sizes. There will also be a bake sale featuring pies, cakes, cookies, breads, rolls, candy and nut rolls. Soups will also be available by the quart.
TRADE CITY — A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 12 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Trade City. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. Takeout will be available.
Proceeds benefit the Crosstown Ministry Food Bank at Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church, Punxsutawney, and Mt. Zion’s building fund. Tickets can be purchased in advance from a member or at the door.
Cornerstone Worship Center welcomes everyone to attend a 6:30 a.m. Easter sunrise service April 20 in the Sanctuary, 500 Lenz Road, White Township.
Pastor Walter Marr will present the Easter story in first person from the view of the soldier that stood at the tomb of Jesus on that beautiful Resurrection Day. A light breakfast will follow the service.

Children 5 and younger eat for free. Takeout is available at no extra cost. Proceeds benefit the church mission and maintenance funds.
RURAL VALLEY — A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 26 at the Rural Valley Fire Hall. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 8. Takeout will be available for an additional 50 cents. Proceeds benefit the Youth Group of St. Paul Congregational Church, just off the Margaret Road, and its mission trip to North Carolina in July.
