Pennsylvania Deutsch buffet

PENN RUN — The Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run, will hold a Pennsylvania Deutsch chicken buffet from 4 to 7 p.m. today. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children ages 3 to 11. Children younger than 3 eat for free.

The menu will feature chicken gravy with chunks of chicken, waffles, biscuits, noodles, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, two prepared salads, desserts and drinks. Call (724) 463-0420 for more information.

Missionary hymn sing

SAGAMORE — There will be a missionary hymn sing at the Holiness Gospel Center, Cemetery Road, Sagamore, at 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be special music and singing. Everyone is invited to attend.

Chicken holupki dinner

CLYMER — St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 465 Morris St., Clymer, will hold a chicken holupki dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 12. Children younger than 4 eat for free. Takeout is available.

Soup lunch

Grove Chapel Lutheran Church, Indiana, is holding a soup and sandwich lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The menu is vegetable soup with beef, dessert and beverage. Bring a container for soup takeout.

Cost is a free will offering. All proceeds benefit church improvements. The lunch is sponsored by the Grove Chapel Lutheran Church women.

‘Gardener’s Paradise’ market

SAXONBURG — The third annual “Gardener’s Paradise” market to benefit a youth domestic mission trip will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., in Saxonburg.

The event includes a pancake breakfast, plants, crafts and quilt displays.

The event benefits St. Luke’s ministry trip to Harrisburg, one of more than 70 communities served by Youth Works to help meet needs in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

The pancake breakfast will run from 8 a.m. to noon in Centennial Hall, 110 State St. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children younger. Attendees can learn how to plant a container butterfly garden and how to freshen homes with dried herbs.

Swiss steak dinner

ROBINSON — The Helping Hands of Robinson Evangelical United Methodist Church will hold a Swiss steak dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11 in the church’s fellowship hall at 332 Mary St., Robinson.

Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and younger eat for free. Takeout is available.

Ladies’ Lunch

DERRY — The monthly Ladies’ Lunch will be held from noon to 1 p.m. May 13 at Derry First United Methodist Church, 311 N. Ligonier St., Derry.

Gospel music festival

ARMAGH — The Armagh United Methodist Church, Armagh, will be holding a gospel music festival from 6 to 10 p.m. May 16 and from 1 to 10 p.m. May 17.

Scheduled to perform on May 16 are Randy Simpson, Dwayne Kaufman, 2 For 1, Amy Ward and Rachel, Brenda Misher and Diane Myers. The kitchen will be open from 5 to 8 p.m.

Scheduled to perform on May 17 are The Choraliers and Pearl, Heaven 4 Shore, Clowns for Christ, Randy Simpson, Dwayne Kaufman, The Michael Family, The Masters, United and New Journey. The kitchen is open from noon to 8 p.m.

The kitchen will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, haluski, stromboli, pizza, desserts, pop, water and more items.

Fashion show

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Church of the Resurrection, 349 Morris St., Clymer, and First Commonwealth Bank is co-hosting a fashion show at the Punxsutawney Country Club on May 18. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show begins at 2 p.m.

This new fundraiser for the parish includes a catered sit-down luncheon and a fashion show sponsored by Peebles, with models being mothers and daughters from each of the five parish sites.

There will also be a variety of baskets to be raffled out, each worth between $50 and $200, with one overnight package. Registration forms are available by calling Joann Stibrik at (724) 254-3659 or Leigh Shubra at (724) 254-3041, and should be submitted to Shubra at the Clymer church office no later than noon on May 12.

Revival services

Evangelist David Barker, also known as “Preacherman,” will return to Calvary Bible Church for revival services May 18 to 21 at the church, 2712 Pine Vale Road in Grant Township, between Deckers Point and Rochester Mills.

He will bring messages from the Book of Revelation and about the subject of prayer. Services will be held at 10 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 18 and 7 p.m. May 19 to 21. A fellowship time will follow the evening service with light refreshments served.

Indoor yard sale

PENN RUN — The Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run, will be holding an indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7.
