An abundance of rain recently has the water flowing swiftly at Buttermilk Falls in West Wheatfield Township.

From June 1 through Tuesday, the area has had an above-average amount of rain, according to AccuWeather. During that time, 9.51 inches were recorded at the Jimmy Stewart Airport. The average is 5.73 inches.

To capture the movement of the flowing water, Gazette photo chief Tom Peel used a tripod-mounted camera and a slower-than-normal shutter speed of 1.5 seconds.
