Defendants sentenced in Indiana County Court

Several defendants received sanctions in December and January sessions of Indiana County Common Pleas Court:

-- Robert Black, 56, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Indiana County Jail and was ordered to pay $2,091.98 in fines and costs of prosecution for a charge filed in 2004 for driving under suspension related to a DUI conviction.

Court records show Black has three times skipped scheduled court appearances, including the date he was to begin serving his sentence.

Blairsville Borough police arrested Black on June 9, 2004, and Black failed to appear for a hearing in Blairsville district court on Sept. 8, 2004. District Judge Jennifer Rega declared Black a fugitive on June 23, 2005, and held the charges for trial in Indiana County Court. Indiana County Judge William Martin issued a warrant for Black's arrest July 15, 2005.

Court records show the warrant was served on Black on March 11, 2010, at the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, and that he was granted release from Indiana County to await arraignment and trial.

Black then failed to appear for jury selection Aug. 23, and a subsequent bench warrant was served on Black at the Allegheny County Jail on Dec. 2, when he was returned to Indiana County Court, pleaded guilty and was sentenced by Judge Gregory Olson.

According to court records, Black again failed to report for incarceration Jan. 3 at Indiana County Jail. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

-- Marco Solis, 22, of Oxford, Chester County, was given three concurrent terms of one to 12 months in Indiana County Jail followed by two years of probation and was required to pay $3,712.79 in fines and costs of prosecution for criminal trespass and two counts of receiving stolen property in three unrelated cases.

-- Devin Ruddock, 21, of Tulip Street, Commodore, was committed to Indiana County Jail for one to 12 months followed by two years of probation and was required to pay $2,268.00 in fines, court costs and restitution to Reschini Agency for receiving stolen property.

-- Sanjay Vig, 46, of Washington Street, Indiana, was given concurrent terms of 30 days to six months and 48 hours to six months in Indiana County Jail followed by six months on probation and was required to pay a total of $4,158.50 in fines and costs of prosecution for three convictions for DUI.

-- Ryan Trudell, 28, of East Iron Alley, Blairsville, was ordered to serve 10 days to two years in Indiana County Jail and to pay $1,278.50 for DUI.

-- Sheldon Troup, 32, of East Pike, White Township, was given five days to six months in the county jail with immediate parole and was told to pay $1,358.50 for DUI and driving under suspension.

-- Heidi Cencarik, 33, of Weirton, W.Va., was told to serve 48 hours to six months in Indiana County Jail and six months of probation and to pay $2,395.50 in fines and court costs for two convictions for DUI.

-- Dean McCready Jr., 40, of East Freedom, Blair County, was ordered to serve 48 hours to six months in Indiana County Jail and was directed to pay $1,182.50 in fines and court costs for DUI.

-- Benjamin Jarvis Jr., 31 of Clyde Road, West Wheatfield Township, was ordered to serve six months of intermediate punishment probation including 96 hours in the county jail and to pay $1,412.50 in fines and costs for driving under the influence.

-- Thomas McGhen, 27, of Fulmer Street, Indiana, was placed on intermediate punishment for four years including nine months of electronic-monitored house arrest and was ordered to pay $1,634.50 in fines and court costs for a felony count of delivery of drugs.

-- Jamison Halldin, 33, of Bash Road, Indiana, was placed on intermediate punishment for four years including nine months of house arrest and was told to pay $1,286.00 in fines, costs and restitution to Bullseye Firearms for receiving stolen property.

-- Adam Mingle, 24, of Mahaffey, Clearfield County, was placed on intermediate punishment for three years including three months of electronic-monitored house arrest and was told to pay $1,348.50 in fines and costs for delivery of a controlled substance.

-- William Robinson, 44, of Climax Road, West Wheatfield Township, was placed on intermediate punishment with the Pennsylvania State Board of Probation and Parole for two years followed by probation with the Indiana County Probation office for three years and was ordered to pay $4,556.39 in fines and costs of prosecution for driving under the influence and driving under suspension related to DUI in one case and for DUI, driving under suspension related to DUI and impersonating a public servant in a second case. Court records show Robinson had five previous convictions dating to 1997 in Indiana, Westmoreland and Cambria counties.

-- Chad Zelenek, 32, of McQuown Road, Punxsutawney, was placed on intermediate punishment for six months including 10 days of house arrest and was required to pay $1,362.50 in fines and court costs for DUI.

-- Charles Bouch Jr., 37, of Lovejoy Road, Commodore, was placed on intermediate punishment for six months including 10 days of house arrest and was assessed $1,312.50 in fines and costs for DUI and one summary traffic infraction.

-- Kelly McCutcheon, 20, of McHenry Road, Indiana, was placed on intermediate punishment for six months including 10 days of house arrest and was assessed $1,358.50 in fines and court costs for DUI and one summary traffic infraction.

-- Harry Taylor, 36, of Leikert Avenue, Black Lick, was placed on intermediate punishment for six months including 10 days of house arrest and was required to pay $478.50 in fines and costs of prosecution for DUI.

-- Jeremy Helman, 30, of Finch Drive, Indiana, was assessed $2,335.86 in fines, costs and restitution and was placed on probation for three years for his guilty pleas to two theft charges.

-- Adam Guesman, 27, of Route 403, Dixonville, was placed on probation for three years and was ordered to pay $11,649.77 in fines, court costs and restitution to Jessica Delaney and Veronica Buck for his guilty plea to unsworn falsification, accident with attended vehicle and seven traffic citations.

-- Dereck Dinga, 28, of Swissvale, Allegheny County, was placed on probation for three years and was required to pay $1,511.00 in fines and court costs for theft.

-- Kristin Abrams, 27, of Johnstown, Cambria County, was placed on probation for three years and was told to pay $1,693.46 in fines, court costs and restitution to Thomas Conner for receiving stolen property.

-- Melissa Hippchen, 32, of Edith Street, Homer City, was ordered to pay $5,411.50 in fines, court costs and restitution and was placed on probation for three years for welfare fraud.

-- Evan Adams, 19, of North Fourth Street, Indiana, was assessed $2,318.50 in fines and costs of prosecution and was placed on probation for three years for possession with intent to deliver drugs.

-- James Shaffer Jr., 27, of Sunset Street, Rossiter, was required to pay $4,453.50 in fines, court costs and restitution to Gary Newcomer and was placed on probation for three years for theft.

Shaffer also was removed from probation for a 2007 conviction for conspiracy to theft, was committed to the county jail for six to 23 months and was immediately paroled.

-- Douglas Durbin, 22, of Windber, Somerset County, was told to pay $753.50 in fines and court costs, was placed on probation for three years and was banned from Walmart, Resort Plaza, Burrell Township, for retail theft.

-- Virgil Small, 24, of Lucas Road, Gipsy, was ordered to pay $1,748.00 in fines and costs and was placed on probation for two years for theft.

-- Benjamin Jenkins, 19, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, was assessed $1,331.00 in fines and costs and was placed on probation for two years for criminal trespass.

-- Kerissa Hicks, 20, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, was told to pay $976.50 in fines, costs and restitution and was placed on two years of probation for access device fraud and theft.

-- Desiree Palmer, 20, of Flinton, Cambria County, was placed on probation for two years and assessed a total of $1,770 in fines and costs for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

-- Robert Sinclair, 23, of Route 553, Mentcle, was required to pay $759.73 in fines, costs and restitution to Martin's Food Store and was placed on probation for two years for theft.

-- Emily Pizer, 27, of Marshall Heights Road, Burrell Township, was assessed $2,505.99 in fines and court costs and was placed on probation for two years for two counts each of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Magdalene Volk, 22, of Railroad Avenue, Blairsville, was required to pay $1,473.50 in fines and court costs, was placed on probation for two years and was banned from the Walmart store in Resort Plaza, Burrell Township, for her guilty pleas to theft and disorderly conduct.

-- Kyle Ferguson, 19, of Philipsburg, Centre County, was required to pay $1,181.56 in fines and court costs and was placed on probation for one year for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Timothy Hollabaugh, 24, of Kanouff Street, Homer City, was assessed $903.50 in fines and costs and was placed on one year of probation for possession of drugs.

-- Kevin Lubitz, 38, of Getty Avenue, White Township, was ordered to pay $1,163.50 in fines and costs and was placed on probation for one year for possession of drugs.

-- Donald Williamson, 25, of Washington Street, Indiana, was assessed $913.50 in fines and court costs and was placed on probation for one year for possession of a small amount of marijuana, resisting arrest and harassment.

-- Joshua Mowry, 27, of Chestnut Street, Saltsburg, was required to pay $1,163.50 in fines and costs and an unspecified amount of restitution and was placed on probation for one year for simple assault.

-- Pamela Hartzog, 35, of Marshall Heights Road, Burrell Township, was assessed $1,063.50 in fines and costs of prosecution and was placed on one year of probation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Romman Dilts, 24, of Route 553, Penn Run, was required to pay $1,063.50 in fines and court costs and was placed on probation for one year for possession of drug paraphernalia.

-- Ryan Doak, 29, of Route 981, Saltsburg, was required to pay $901.84 in fines, costs and restitution to Walmart and was placed on probation for one year for conspiracy to theft.
