Event to benefit Mark Hess Memorial Fund

on September 11, 2013 10:55 AM

The YMCA of Indiana County will host a fundraiser Saturday to create the Mark Hess Memorial Fund, which will provide money to support children who want to swim but can’t afford it. It will help cover the costs of swim team fees and the necessities such as suits, caps and goggles. The event will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mack Park pool.

“I think Mr. Hess would like an event at the pool to remember him and support our remembrance of his contribution to swimming locally,” Eric Neal, executive director of the Y, said in a release.

All of the proceeds from the event will go to this fund. Tickets are available now at the YMCA for a recommended minimum donation of $10 per ticket. Donations of any amount are acceptable.

Adam Hess’s band, Coastal Remedy, will be playing at the event from 6 to 8 p.m.
