Event to mark JFK anniversary

The Indiana County commissioners will host a short commemorative program Friday afternoon to observe the 50th anniversary of the death of President John F. Kennedy.

The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. on the front steps of the Indiana County Court House and conclude shortly after 2 p.m. Commission chairman Rodney Ruddock said participants in the program will include the commissioners; Tony Renda, of Renda Broadcasting; Indiana University of Pennsylvania President Dr. Michael Driscoll; and Jack Hanna, president of the Indiana County Democratic Party.

Anthony Frazier, a data management specialist for the county, will lead the audience in a moment of silence at 2 p.m., followed by a benediction.

The program will conclude with Indiana County auditor Donna Cupp singing “God Bless America.”
