Flag Day service set

The Blairsville Elks is hosting its second annual “Elks Salute to Our Veterans” immediately following a Flag Day service on June 14.

This event is being sponsored in cooperation with other local organizations that honor, support and provide services for local veterans.

The Flag Day service, open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. at Blairsville Cemetery.

In the event of rain, the service will be held at the Blairsville Elks, 60 E. Campbell St.

The veterans’ salute event at the Elks lodge will follow, with a dinner of burgers and hot dogs at 7 p.m. Admission is $5; veterans can attend for free.

The band 7 Mile Run will play from 8 to 11 p.m.

Veterans who need a ride can contact the Elks.
