Fond Farewell

Indiana University of Pennsylvania has had to say good-bye to one of its top managers.

Mark A. Geletka, associate vice president for facilities management, retired Friday, bringing to a close a 26-year career at the university.

President Michael Driscoll called attention to Geletka’s retirement during a groundbreaking ceremony for the university’s newest academic building on Friday afternoon. Driscoll said that, among other accomplishments, Geletka helped turn the university’s cogeneration plant into a revenue source.

He also said Geletka has played a big role in the overall growth of the campus.

“As he’s grown in his responsibilities, he’s provided a quiet, constant, and very wise influence on the campus’ physical evolution and growth, and that includes the groundbreaking that we’re celebrating today,” he said.

He said Geletka will be missed.

“We will miss your thoughtful approach to how our physical plant’s well-being impacts how we achieve our mission.”
