Grants available through United Way

The United Way of Indiana County announced that funding is available through its grant program for eligible nonprofit organizations that demonstrate a solid programmatic plan for meeting critical human service needs in Indiana County.

Applications may be obtained by contacting the United Way Office at (724) 463-0277 or by accessing the UWIC website www.uwindianacounty.org under Partner Agencies/2013 Grant Application.

The deadline for applications is July 26.

The United Way provided 12 grants totaling $17,051 in 2012, with an average grant amount of $1,420.

These grants were used for services provided by organizations demonstrating how to Live United through education programs, employment/activities for youth with disabilities, building parenting skills, health programs, back-to-school programming and other initiatives.
