IRMC lists renovation benefits

A successful Centennial Capital Campaign and a successful conclusion of the IRMC expansion and renovation project will benefit area residents in many ways, according to hospital and campaign officials. They have identified several important benefits just of building new operating rooms.

• Larger, state-of-the-art operating rooms will enable IRMC to take advantage of new technologies, like ceiling-mounted medical imaging devices and robotic surgical equipment.

• The new OR technology will enhance patient safety through the use of surgical equipment that performs faster and less-invasive procedures and reduces blood loss, anesthesia time and post-surgical recovery times.

• Updated ORs will aid the hospital in recruiting young and talented physicians who want to work where they can use the latest equipment and procedures they trained on in medical school.

• The new ORs will help IRMC broaden its scope of services and allow more area residents to receive care locally, lowering health care costs.
