• Smicksburg’s 24th Annual Fall Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. in Smicksburg. Cider-making demonstrations, a bake sale, mums and other fall decorations and apple wine will be featured. For a detailed itinerary, visit www.smicksburg.net.

• A Bridal Show will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 1395 Wayne Ave., White Township. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served and each bride will receive a special gift from the Holiday Inn, while supplies last.

“The Optimist” will be presented by The Lively Arts at 8 p.m. on Waller Hall Mainstage, IUP. Noel returns to his hometown to confront the sudden death of his best friend, the wedding of his philandering father and the re-emergence of his one true love. Scary Harry’s Haunted Trail will be open from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Scary Harry’s Haunted Trails, 210 Long Road, Homer City. There are two trails, one for ages 7 and up, and one for ages 6 and under. Sailing 101 will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yellow Creek State Park’s Boat Rental, 170 Route 259, Penn Run. This two-hour session begins with a lesson on the parts of the sailboat and introduces future sailors to the basics of wind awareness, sail trim and points of sail swimming. Spend an afternoon on a fall foliage boat tour to see the spectacular fall scenery around Yellow Creek lake from 2 to 4 p.m. Meet at Yellow Creek State Park’s boat rental, Penn Run. Seating is limited to 30 people. Registration is required by calling (724) 357-7913.

Lively Arts will host “The Brothers Karamazov” at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Waller Hall Studio Theater, IUP. The Brothers Karamazov combines language, movement and a capella chants and prayers from Orthodox and Catholic sources to weave a mystic examination of faith and doubt. • An Indiana Community Garden Open Meeting will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mack Park, on the corner of South Sixth Street and Carter Avenue. Members of the community are encouraged to learn more about the garden and how to become involved.

• Twilight Cemetery Tours will be held every 10 minutes at the Blairsville Cemetery, East Market Street, Blairsville. Follow the guide through the Blairsville Cemetery and meet figures from the Underground Railroad, soldiers from wars long past and prominent Blairsville citizens. Space is limited.

The Indi-Annas Chorus, the Indiana chapter of Sweet Adelines International, will perform from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex.
