IUP to headline Band Fest 2013
The 2013 season marks the 92nd season for the IUP marching band. The opening show for the season will feature music from James Bond. Later in the season the band will present music from Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.”
Highlights for 2013 will again include a performance at the Allentown College Band Showcase, as well as the roof-raising “Bands in Review” on Nov. 17 in Fisher Auditorium. In addition, the marching band will be the featured band at the USBANDS National Championships in Annapolis, Md., as well as the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey.
The 170-member marching band, known throughout the country and abroad as “The Legend,” performs before and after each home football game, as well as the traditional halftime show.
