New playground built at McGregor Park
Indiana Borough officials Tuesday thanked all the community volunteers and local business sponsors and organizations that helped buy and assemble new playground equipment at Indiana’s McGregor Park on June 14.
The borough received a $20,000 grant from KaBOOM! — a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that children get the active play needed to become healthy adults — to help purchase more than $32,000 worth of new equipment.
Dozens of businesses and individuals helped with the playground project. Indiana councilman John Hartman, chairman of the Public Woks Committee, called the effort “a huge success,” adding, “we have one of the best playgrounds around.” (Jamie Empfield/Gazette photo)
