by on May 02, 2014 10:50 AM

Construction on two bridges carrying Route 119 north and south over East Pike continued this week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation replaces the existing structurally deficient bridges with single-span beam bridges.

Work began in March on the $3,213,013 project by Plum Contracting.

The bridges are expected to be open by the end of October.  (Tom Peel/Gazette photo)
