Solomon, a 6-month-old yellow Labrador being trained at SCI Pine Grove to be a service dog to help people with special needs, continued his socialization process Thursday with a visit to a children’s summer reading program in Davis Hall at IUP.

Tammy Delosh, center, a corrections counselor at the prison, introduced Solomon to Colden Augustine, 7, of Indiana, and Desiree Dressel, 7, of Commodore.

The pup’s socialization training has also taken him to ballgames and restaurants. In the background is Dixie. (Jamie Empfield/Gazette photo)
