Summer arts camp planned
The Indiana Art Association will hold its 14th annual Arts Camp in July.
The elementary camp (grades 1 through 6) will take place from July 14 to 18 at Indiana Junior High School; secondary (grades 7 through 12) will be July 21 to 25 with the morning art class at The Artists Hand Gallery and the afternoon theater and music morning classes to be held at the Indiana Players Playhouse on Philadelphia Street.
Both groups will have a show and reception the Friday evening following their week of camp. Students will have classes in art, drama and music. Students will sign up for the grade they just completed.
The elementary camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a brief morning break as well as a break for lunch. The cost for the week is $125 for full-day camp or $90 for one subject.
Secondary camp begins with an art class at The Artists Hand Gallery from 9 to 11 a.m., with an hour break for lunch, then resume at the Indiana playhouse with a theater class from noon to 2 p.m. and a music class from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost for the week is $150. The elementary theater teachers are Robyn Bailey-Orchard and Megan Klingensmith. Joelle Wisnieski will be teaching music. Art teachers are Jill Shinsky, Jess Green and James Rickard. Junior and senior high teachers are Bailey-Orchard, drama; Chelsea Young, music; and Arlene Miller, art.
