PIE AUCTION: A pie auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Plumville fire station.

All proceeds go the Plumville Volunteer Fire Department.

 

MEETING: The Indiana Hospital Nurses Alumni Association will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday in dining room #3 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

The speaker will be Julie Yeomans on “boob camp.”

The association is open to all graduates of the Indiana Hospital nursing school and all registered nurses who have ever worked at IRMC.

 

BRUNCH: Catholic Daughters Court St. Bernard 339, Indiana, will hold their communion brunch at the Indiana Country Club after the 9:30 a.m. Mass Sunday. Cost is $20.

Reservations will be taken until Wednesday. Call Julie Receski at (724) 463-8492. The event is open to all women of the parish. Guest speaker will be Monsignor Larry Kinery.

 

ROLL SALE: SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Homer City is holding a roll sale for Easter. Nut, apricot and poppyseed rolls will be available for $10 each. Orders will be taken until March 29 by calling (724) 479-9580. Will call when ready.

SOUP LUNCHEONS: Soup luncheons open to the entire community will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays during Lent at Zion Lutheran Church, Sixth and Church streets, Indiana.

Every Tuesday, three different soups, including a vegetarian selection, will be offered with bread and dessert. Takeouts will be available. Diners will be asked to make free-will offerings to benefit the church’s Community Food Pantry.

The March 11 soup menu is Tuscan vegetable soup, lasagna soup and Italian chicken soup.

 

CRAFT SALE: The Impulse Youth Group will hold a craft/vendor sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Dixonville Wesleyan Church Ministry Center, Dixonville.

TEA: Women Growing in Faith will hold the Harmony Grove Lutheran Church’s first Ladies Day Out Tea from 9:30 to 10 a.m. March 29 at 6584 Five Points Road, Five Points.

The guest speaker will be Michele Huey, writer of “God, Me and a Cup of Tea,” which appears weekly in the Indiana Gazette. She will speak on “What Kind of Bag Are You?”

Lunch will be provided and there will be door prizes. The cost is $15 per person. Enjoy a relaxing day of friends, food, music and spiritual guidance with fellow women. JAM SESSIONS: The Indiana Social Center, 1001 Oak St., Indiana, has an open jam session scheduled for Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon. If you play an instrument or like to sing, or if you are more of a listener, the center would love to have you join. There is no admission charge and sessions are open to the public. If you’d like to stay and have lunch, you must make your lunch reservation by calling (724) 465-2697.

 

JAM SESSIONS: Open acoustic jam sessions are being held at the Chestnut Hills Social Center, 26 Heybert Drive, Old Route 22, Blairsville, from 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Mondays of the month except for holidays. To stay for lunch after the jam session, call (724) 459-5251 to make reservations. If the weather is bad, call ahead to be sure the session is still being held.
