The Gazette presents this periodic roundup of fundraising events, entertainment, and other activities planned in the coming weeks in the Indiana County area.

AUCTION: A benefit grocery auction for the Spruce Community Center will be held at 2 p.m. July 27 at the Commodore Fire Hall. Irish Mike will attend and will have a full load of frozen and dry goods, including hams, bacon, sausage, pizzas, cheese, lunch meats, canned goods, paper products, cleaning supplies and more. Save 40 to 60 percent off grocery bills. Bring coolers. Cash, checks and all major credit cards will be accepted. The kitchen will be open. For more information, call (814) 948-9202.

 

DANCE: A Dynamic Singles dance will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight today at the Indiana Elks, 475 S. 13th St., Indiana. A snack will be served at 8:30 p.m. DJ Larry will provide music.

LUNCHEON: Former members and friends of the Blairsville Grange will gather at noon Tuesday for lunch at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, White Township. Guests are welcome.

 

KARAOKE: Karaoke with Gypsy will be featured at 9 p.m. July 26 at the Polish National Alliance Club, 501 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. There will be light refreshments, raffles, Jell-O shots and good music. Proceeds benefit the 2014 Harvest Jubilee.

 

FOOD DRIVE: The Love Basket, a nonprofit, all volunteer emergency food assistance program for Indiana County, is holding a midyear church food drive to restock their shelves.

Area churches and individuals are invited to participate during the weekend of July 26 and 27 by collecting nonperishable food items or monetary donations.

Items may then be delivered between noon and 3 p.m. July 27 to the Love Basket Warehouse in the Robertshaw Building on the Indiana University of Pennsylvania campus.

Alternate arrangements can be made as necessary.
