DAYTON — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is looking for volunteers to help with planting and assembling a butterfly garden to enhance the wildlife observation area at Mahoning Creek Lake.

The butterfly garden will be located in the observation area behind the office buildings.

It will consist of plants native to western Pennsylvania that attract butterflies.

The planting date is scheduled for Friday, with a rain date on Saturday. Volunteers have been asked to be at the site at 9 a.m.

The Army Corps of Engineers is encouraging the general public to participate.

Volunteers will need to fill out a volunteer form.

Bricks for the project were donated by the Glen-Gery Corp. Hanley Plant, of Summerville.

Girty’s Gardens, also of Summerville, helped in planning and designing the butterfly garden.
