Work is nearing completion on a giant water storage tank at the new Windy Ridge Business and Technology Park near Routes 286 and 119 in White Township.

The 700,000-gallon tank is about 80 feet tall and 32 feet in diameter. It is being built as a cooperative venture between the Indiana County Development Corporation and the Indiana County Municipal Services Authority at a cost of $946,000, funded by a combination of grants and loans.

It will provide additional water storage capacity for the ICMSA system and through a network of 12-inch mains will supply not only potable water but additional fire suppression protection for tenants in the 197-acre business park. (Tom Peel/Gazette)
