WHITE TOWNSHIP: Supervisors consider lowering speed limit

by on March 13, 2014 11:00 AM

At the request of some residents, the White Township supervisors voted to advertise a 25 mph speed limit for Risinger Road.

Mike and Megan Apjok, of Risinger Road, solicited a petition that was signed by 80 percent of their neighbors regarding a request for the change.

Mike Apjok urged the supervisors to take action “before something serious happens.”

The supervisors will advertise an ordinance for the change. In other business Wednesday, the officials:

• Voted to amend an agreement with Plum Contracting regarding a bridge replacement on Route 119 over East Pike. The amendment adds a clause that township officials will inspect an area to be used by contractors after all work is finished before the contractor is released from legal obligations regarding the area.

• Will open bids for road materials at the March 26 meeting.
