Fast Times reaches finals

Fast Times Screen Printing advanced to the league championship series by defeating Bob’s Pizza, 8-2, in a semifinal-round game of the Indiana Area Baseball Boosters playoffs Wednesday.

Lucas Chakot stroked a double and struck out 10 in a complete-game win. Tom Barnes, Anthony Stipcak and Scott Shirley each singled twice.

Charles Waller singled twice for Bob’s Pizza.

Fast Times Screen Printing will take on a team to be announced in the best-of-three championship series.

• In a quarterfinal-round playoff game played Tuesday, Kinkead Aggregates beat Ponderosa, 11-2.

Steve Crate struck out 12 and walked one to earn a complete-game win. Mike Drew went 3-for-3 with two homers and five RBIs, Mitch Peffer doubled and singled twice, and Brett Mack and Tony Nanni each singled twice.

Sean Ryan singled and doubled for Ponderosa.

Golf leagues name winners

The game of the week was double trouble, and Pat Lewandowski was the winner with the most bogeys at the Indian Spring Tuesday Morning Ladies’ Golf League event.

Ginny McGinnis was the winner of the low putts competition with 13 and also had two chip-ins.

• The Meadow Lane Ladies 18-Hole Golf League named its winners from Wednesday’s event.

Kathy Glassford and Flora Isenberg were the tournament and special-event winners. Glassford also got a birdie on No. 5 and a chip-in on No. 6.

West Lebanon family day set

WEST LEBANON — The West Lebanon baseball team of the Indiana County League will hold its inaugural Family Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 17, beginning at noon at Bertolino Field.

All West Lebanon, past and present, are welcome and are asked to bring a covered dish. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and kielbasa will be provided.

Volleyball rules meeting set

HOMER CITY — The PIAA District 6 volleyball rules interpretation meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the LGI Room at Homer-Center High School.

The meeting is mandatory for all coaches and officials.
