Firearm safety courses slated

MARION CENTER — A firearm safety and marksmanship course will be held weekly on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 7 at 5 p.m. in the sportsman building at Mack Park at the Indiana County Fairgrounds.

The program is open to boys and girls ages 9 and over.

Adults are welcome to attend the sessions with minimal cost for expendable materials. The program is free to children.

Precision rifles, both .22-caliber and .177-caliber, will be used. Eye and ear protection is mandatory.

The National Rifle Association has funded the program with a grant and will provide all necessary equipment and ammunition.
