Luke Ruddock’s bases-loaded walk plated Tyler Halliwell for the winning run, capping Penns Manor’s comeback in a dramatic 9-8 win over United in a Heritage Conference baseball game in Clymer on Monday.

The Comets drew three straight walks, and Lucas Kowalski singled home a run before Ruddock’s walk ended the game.

“It wasn’t a pretty game by any means, but at this time of the year, a win’s a win,” Penns Manor coach Skyler Eckenrode said. “You’ve got to take what you can get.”

Kowalski finished with two hits, including a triple. Gavin Grimaldi had two hits and three RBIs. Ruddock and Zach Hnatko scored two times each.

Kowalski was the winning pitcher, with four strikeouts and one walk in two scoreless innings of relief.

Jake Walsh drove in two runs for United. Weylon McGeary and Beau Sheriff scored two times each.

Kolt Jarvis took the loss, striking out 10 and walking 10 in six innings.

Penns Manor (8-9, 7-8) plays host to Williamsburg in the first round of the District 6 Class A playoffs Thursday.

United finished 3-16.
