SALTSBURG — Frankie Plowman threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort as Saltsburg fell to North Star in a non-conference football game Friday night.

With Tyler Frassenei lost to injury in the first half, Plowman rallied the Trojans late to give them a chance, but threw a late interception — one of three on the night —to seal Saltsburg’s fate.

Lucas Mowery had six catches for 62 yards, Frassenei added three catches for 62 yards in the first half, and Steve Richards caught a 14-yard touchdown pass to bring the Trojans within two scores.

North Star controlled the ball for much of the game, gaining 319 total yards. The Cougars rushed for 266 yards, including 131 from Thomas Miller, 81 from Levi Albright and 62 from Zac Maluchnick.
