Indiana announces spring sports information

All Indiana High School students who are interested in participating in a spring sport must sign up in the nurse’s office or athletic office.

Students who participated in fall and/or winter sports this school year or had a completed physical done prior to the season will need to complete a recertification form, which must be turned in to the nurse by Monday, Feb. 24.

Athletes who did not participate in a fall and/or winter sport or had a physical completed will need to complete the pre-participating physical forms, which can be picked up at the nurse’s office or athletic office or downloaded from the school district’s website, www.iasd.cc.

PIAA umpiring program set at IUP

Anyone interested in becoming a certified PIAA umpire in softball can participate in the START Umpiring Program for new officials at IUP’s Hadley Union Building on Jan. 29 and Feb. 5.

Instructional classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. A test will be administered Feb. 12.

The program is free for IUP students. Non-students must pay a $30 fee.
