IUP's Tice earns PSAC award
IUP shortstop Dylan Tice has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Athlete of the Week.
The award is the first of the spring baseball season.
Tice leads the Crimson Hawks with a .656 batting averaging, going 21-for-32 in the first seven games. He also paces the team with five doubles, 12 RBIs and a .686 on-base percentage.
He has hit safely in each game this season and has at least three hits in five games.
His best game came over the weekend against Bluefield State in Frederick, Md., when he went 5-for-5 with a double, four RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
IUP (4-3) plays at Davis & Elkins on Thursday.
Tickets on sale for Comets' game
KENWOOD -- Tickets for Saturday's Penns Manor's girls' basketball game in the PIAA playoffs are on sale in the high school office from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Thursday.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students. All tickets at the gate at $6.
Penns Manor plays Port Allegany at 5 p.m. Saturday at Pitt Bradford.
PL boosters to meet Monday

IYHA team falls in playoffs
The Indiana Youth Hockey Association's Peewee A Minor Division team fell to the Artic Foxes, 4-2, in the quarterfinal round of the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League playoffs Saturday.
Dillon Berezansky and Vinny Sherry each scored an unassisted goal for Indiana. Goalie Alex Nanni made 15 saves.
Indiana concluded its season with a 17-4 record.
Six swimmers named all-stars
Six Heritage Conference swimmers were named to the Central Western Alleghenies Aqua Conference all-star team.
Named to the second team were Ligonier Valley's Sam Maust and Shelbi Shearer, Marion Center's Dalton Mack and Kimmi Donaldson, and Northern Cambria's Dartagnan Suchar and Carly Grove.
Soccer boosters slate skills camp
The Indiana Area Soccer Boosters will hold its annual soccer skills camp from June 17 to 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at Indiana High School's Andy Kuzneski Field.
The registration fee is $70. The camp is for boys and girls entering grades 1 through 8.
All participants will receive a T-shirt.
